Questions around imitating accents and dialects.

This Boo was inspired by an email I got from an acquaintance which indicated that she was not happy with a voicemail introduction I made for my wife where I imitated a "heavy Jamaican accent", (her words quoted. Was I wrong? was it OK? Does it depend on context? Does it depend on how accurate the imitation is? I love accents, dialects, different cultures and people, that is me in short. What think you though? :)
