Russian artist Sergei Pavlenko has made a success by painting some of the most notable figures in British society. A graduate from the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts now lives in London. Pavlenko's portrait of the Queen made in 2000, is said to be one of her personal favourites. He has painted her subsequently in the company of her grandsons - the princes William and Harry.
