Cervical screening review - A Prof Dorota Gertig - Observations

The National Cervical Screening Program is currently under review. Professor Gertig informs discussion about proposed changes to the program such as increasing the screening interval, delaying the time to first screen and ceasing screening at an earlier age, the role of HPV testing and the impact of HPV vaccine, the future of the pap test and the role of liquid-based technologies, as well as the impact of cervical cancer on the developing world.

Associate Professor Dorota Gertig is a public health physician and Medical Director of the Victorian Cervical Cytology Registry.
