Norwich Nurse Deploys To Afghanistan-Maj Pete Royal

Major Pete Royal Queens Alexandra Royal Army Nursing Corps (QARANC), 36, from Norwich, has recently deployed to work as an Emergency Department Nurse the Role 3 Hospital in Camp Bastion in Afghanistan. Pete who is married and has three children, who live where he is based in Catterick, has served in the Army for 17 years and started off as a private and worked his way up to Major, is attached to 5 Medical Regiment but works at 33 Field Hospital. The UK Medical Group provides the full spectrum of medical care support to UK and ISAF Forces deployed in Helmand Province and wider Afghanistan, from care at the point of injury though hospital treatment to evacuation back to the UK. The current UK Med Gp deployed on Operation Herrick 18 is based around 5 Medical Regiment who provide the Role 1 Medical Regiment who provide the pre-hospital emergency care, the deployed ambulance service and primary health care which is a deployed GPs surgery. 33 Field Hospital provide the core staff for the Role 3 hospital who are responsible for the deployed hospital care of the troops deployed in Afghanistan. #BritishArmy #Afghanistan #Operations #CampBastion #Herrick #medics #Hospital
