Media Talk podcast: Lenny Henry calls for more diversity in creative industries

Mar 19, 2014, 02:56 PM

In a break from the traditional format, Media Talk presents highlights from Lenny Henry's Bafta television lecture, recorded on Monday at Bafta headquarters in Piccadilly. In a wide-ranging talk on the "appalling" drop in the number of black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) people working in creative industries, Henry proposes ring-fenced funding for productions featuring a BAME majority – in a similar vein to regional quotas championed by Channel 4 and the BBC. Also on the programme, John Plunkett talks to actor and writer Matt Berry about working on The Mighty Boosh, The IT Crowd, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace and his latest cult hit, Toast of London.
