Final John Peters programme on Radio Trent 23rd Sept 1988

Episode 965,   Dec 06, 2014, 09:30 PM

Last shows, if you're allowed to do them, are usually really good or really bad.

Enjoy here the last John Peters breakfast show on Radio Trent in Nottingham. He's been a regular on the show off and on for 13 years, and had been the voice who'd launched the station in July 1975. John was off to the new GEM.AM on the AM frequencies on which Trent had squatted.

Enjoy here the old John UBN sound, fast and slick, mixed with last day of term irreverence and typical conversation with long-suffering newsreader, Phil Dixon, who understood little of what John said. Loads of local advertising, and surprisingly little national; a little early co-funding and Alfasound jingles help to colour this bit of lovely eighties ILR.
