Jessica Holmes is the Executive Chef and Co-founder of SoulBoricua, LLC - a great young Chicago business created by sisters three sisters - Jessica Holmes, Lenora Carroll and Cecile De Mello - who blended their African American and Puerto Rican heritage. They bring an African American and Puerto Rican fusion of foods with health conscious ingredients. We talked about their main product "SoulFrito", which is now available at the Englewood Whole Foods.

Jessica also discusses being African American and Puerto Rican, along with some of the challenges of trying to connect those roots. They break down some of the important aspects of getting to know your heritage and connections between the cultures. Family is also a big theme and Jessica explains how they played a major role in the development of the brand.
