Conor Devine on how Brexit could lead to Irish reunification

Episode 88,   Jul 24, 2017, 11:02 PM

Will Brexit leave Northern Ireland so bankrupt its citizens will want a reunified Ireland? With Article 50, the repeal bill and the small matter of a general election taking the focus over the past few months, much has happened since Belfast businessman Conor Devine joined us for Episode 43. Conor explains how a stand-off between Sinn Fein and the DUP has left Northern Ireland devoid of an executive and in a state of “paralysis” and he how he fears the thought of direct rule from Westminster. All against the inexorable advance towards Brexit that will make the £1billion handed to the Tories to the DUP for a coalition deal in the election made to feel like chump change compared to the annual £10billion black hole threatened by the European exodus.
