Legendary opera singer and vocal coach Veronica Dunne talks about the very tough profession of being an opera singer today. 'You are as good as your last performance', she says in a conversation about her life and journey in song with Iarla Ó Lionáird. Dunne celebrated her 90th birthday earlier this year and marked over 55 years teaching vocal performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin. In this extensive conversation Veronica or 'Ronnie' as everyone knows talks of her roots in Dublin before moving to post war Rome where she studied bel canto and went on to win an international singing competition in Milan where she sang Mimi in La Boheme and was then recruited to the Royal Opera at Covent Garden in London.
