    • naasz I first have to say that I have been following your blog and boo's for the past school year and have loved learning about what you are doing with your 8th graders and programming. This coming year our 9th grade class (approx. 30 students) will be receiving iPads and I believe bluetooth keyboards. I teach Computer Applications, which we moved the to 8th from 9th grade three years ago. When I took over the program it was primarilay Microsoft Office but I have been adding Web 2.0 tools and some CS such as basic HTML in notepad,,,, and I am trying to become more competent in programming as it is not anything that I had ever done before three years ago. My kids really enjoyed AppInventor an creating for Android Devices. I am curious to get my hands on my iPad (hopefully by the end of the week) and see what tools we are currently using will or will not work. I would love to get more into Ruby and Python but have no idea where to start. Do you happen to have some sites that would be a good place to start?
    • teknoteacher Thank you. Enjoyed listening to your plans. So, your school is providing *every* child with iPads, or just some of them? In what way does this concern you? Do you teach CS and programming, will iPads help further develop this aspect of the curriculum?
