Litchfield Soldier Swaps Horses For Guns in Afghanistan-LCpl Craig Moore

Lance Corporal Craig Moore Blues and Royals of the Household Cavalry Regiment, 29, from Litchfield is a driver with the Brigade Reconnaissance Force, based in Camp Bastion, Afghanistan.

Craig, who recently married his wife, Amy, which the wedding was shown on a TV show called Kirstie's Vintage, has spent seven years in the Army, of which four have been with the Household Calvary Mounted Regiment based in Knightsbridge, in London, where he has performed in State ceremonial occasions like the Queen's Birthday Parade as the Sovereigns Escort.

The Brigade Reconnaissance Force (BRF) is a unit of around a 100 men that has been specifically created for operation Herrick 18. Based on a Reconnaissance Squadron from the Household Cavalry Regiment the BRF is manned by specialists from across the Brigade, including the reconnaissance platoon from 4 Rifles. Recently the BRF has been employed to protect the task force and Afghan National Army by finding and disrupting insurgent weapon and ammunition supplies.
