Authorities in Ghana have embarked on an identity registration exercise which they hope will enable them compile information on all those residing within the country's borders. Foreigners will have to pay more than a hundred dollars to get the right particulars in the exercise, carried out by Ghana's National Identification Authority. Josef Iroko is the head of the legal unit at Ghana's National Identification Authority and he told focus on Africa's Victor Sylver what the whole exercise aims to achieve.
