Egypt NGO trial

In #Egypt, 43 Egyptians and foreign #NGOs workers have been sentenced to jail terms up to 5 years. The Cairo court also ordered the closure of US NGOs offices. The NGOs have been accused of working illegally and receiving illicit funds, a charge they denied. David J. Kramer is the president of US based organization Freedom House. 6 members of Freedom House and a former staff member have been convicted. David Kramer is worried about the future of civil society in Egypt.
