Where's the Protest Music?

Britain's got high #unemployment, government spending-cuts and an on-going war in #Afghanistan. You might think it would be a bumper time for #protest music - just think of the 1980s with punk rock, #BillyBragg, and the "Red Wedge" tour. But what protest music there is these days rarely touches the mainstream. One veteran of protest music is still going; Tom Robinson became famous for his single, "Sing if You're Glad to be Gay," and has been back on stage this month performing this and other old hits. I went to the concert, and have been asking - why are there no new Tom Robinsons today?
