Aug 27, 2013, 09:53 PM

The Baalbeck International Festival in Lebanon is the oldest and most prestigious cultural event in the Middle East. It has run for over 50 years. The war in neighbouring Syria has increased sectarian tensions in Lebanon. Rana Hadid is granddaughter of one of the festival founders and works as a volunteer at the festival and she told us why they had to move the venue for the first time in the festival's history. Paul Henley was presenting on the BBC World Service programme 'Weekend' and he was joined by the studio panel of Charlotte Vere, founder of Women On which says it aims to transform the debate around women and from Chicago was international human rights lawyer Arsalan Iftikhar who is also senior editor at The Islamic Monthly magazine & founder of TheMuslimGuy.com. This aired on the 24th August 2013. #bbcworldservice #bbcweekend #Baalbeck
