DJ Chris Moyles "learns lesson" over tax. Is tax avoidance acceptable?

The former Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles says he's learned a "valuable lesson" after a court found that he'd tried to avoid paying up to £1 million tax.

A tribunal heard he claimed to be a second-hand car dealer to try to save money. Revenue and Customs is writing to 450 other celebrities and wealthy individuals who took part in the same tax avoidance scheme to demand they pay the tax they owe.

Are these schemes acceptable in any shape or form? And should multi national companies be paying more tax? In recent years Google, Facebook and Amazon have all been criticised for the level of corporation tax they pay in the UK with some calling to boycott them.

If a company or an individual is paying tax no matter how little - does it matter as long as they are doing it legally?
