If I want to earn more money, I need to grow my creative competencies. My business competencies too, probably.

My income depends on my ability to push myself beyond my comfortable, fat, successful limits. I'm great at certain things within very narrow confines. Like cartooning and filmmaking. But to achieve more (and earn better), I'll have to push beyond what I'm capable of. Far beyond.

In doing so, I have to be careful I don't become a damp sugar cube. That is—that I don't take a Devil-may-care approach.
