Life as a Visual Storyteller—Episode 9—9th July, 2015: Being Bad at Business DOESN'T Mean You're Bad at What You Do

People ask me whether admitting publicly that I'm a cataclysmic disaster at business is going to put clients off. I think the opposite is true. My complete lack of business nous makes me very attractive to clients who are better at it than I am. They can get me to do the work for less money than a creative who knows how business works. (Though I'm not sure such a creature exists). It is important to note that being a carbuncle on the face of commerce doesn't mean I'm bad at what I do. I'm great at what I do as a creative. Just less so as a businessman.
