JVDL - Stoke Council chief leaves and his post gets axed

Stoke-on-Trent City Council's coalition leader Dave Conway said the exit of chief executive John van der Laarschot was part of a bid for a "strong member-led" authority. It followed a private meeting in which members approved a £230,000 off.

Council leader Dave Conway and deputy leader Abi Brown spoke to the media following the meeting and said the Chief Executive post has now been deleted as part of a review of senior management roles at the authority.
