Hey everybody this is Jeff Thompson. I am going to talk to you a little bit about the rotor. The rotor setting the most efficient way I have found to set it up. First we go to setting, general, accessibility, then voice over.

General, back button, location accessibility, heading accessibility, heading vision, heading voice over on button.

It says on but you can go in further here.

Accessibility button

Then we will go down to rotor

Rotor button.

So in the rotor section there is a lot of choices that you can choose from to select to have then optimized your navigation abilities using the voice over gesture. I got a list here sometimes when you select all these things they get into the rotor selection and you turn and it all convoluted you don't know where it is, but you can do something here.

Reorder headings button, drag able, double tap and hold, wait for the sound then drag to rearrange.

You can put these in an order. I've got them in somewhat of an order. I know that there is a couple out of order right now. So let see what I have here. And you hear selected if I have that option selected that will show up in my rotor if it's necessary on the page or screen that I'm on.

Selected characters, selected words, selected line, selected headings,

Ok Character words, line, a lot of text stuff right there they are all right in a row, and then you heard headings. Now headings are on our website where it might be a topic or a change of topic, so you might have four or five heading so you can scroll through them by heading instead of swiping through all the other things. Now these particular settings like headings is a single finger up and down and it will move through the page through the headings. So letís keep going.

Selected headings, list, selected landmarks. Now list wasn't selected but I have landmarks. Landmarks are key spots that some developers have marked. Let take a house like a landmark in a house. Front door, back door, bathroom, boom you can get to those places fast. Now headings might be bedroom one, bedroom two, bedroom three, carpeted floor, so you get into the detail like that. But when you're talking landmarks you're talking front door, back door, you know that type of thing.

Selected text selection,

Thatís for editing

Selected speak, selected volume, selected speech rate.

So speech rate,

Selected volume, selected audio docking, punctuation, selected sounds, selected hints,

There you have a few of the things that I also have right in a row stuff that has to do with speech rate, volume, all that stuff is basically in the same category for me. So letís scroll up.

Rows 12-32 handwriting, selected containers,

Now containers is say you're in a Facebook app it will bring you up to the top header and then into the body and that's it. But certain pages you'll jump from one section to another one so you can get right up to the back button possibly by swiping left from there. So there is a useful thing of having this stuff. Now containers I want to move up where all my headings, my landmarks are. So what I'm going to do swipe to the right

Reorder containers button drag able double tap and hold wait for the sound then drag to rearrange.

I heard the sound.

Move the up, sounds, move the up, sounds, move above punctuation, move above audio docking, move above volume, move above speech rate, move below headings, move below landmarks, selected containers, landmarks, selected lists.

When I do move these I notice that my selection doesn't stick with them. It's like it moves the box but leaves the x where ever it falls again. So what I have to do is once I get these all where I want them I will come back and double check to see where everything is. So what I will do I will get out of this, I'll go back

Selected characters, selected word, selected lines, selected headings, list, handwriting, selected landmarks, selected containers, selected text selection.

Okay so there it is. So I am going to back out of this.

voiceover back button, on , rotor, heading, selected characters, selected words, selected lines, selected headings, list, handwriting, selected landmarks, selected containers, selected text selection, selected speech rate, selected volume, selected audio docking, punctuation, rows 12 -26 selected sounds, selected hints, braille screen input, selected links, form controls, selected links, selected tables, visited links, non-visited links, selected buttons, selected text fields, search fields, images, static text, unpaid links, row 17- 32, zoom, same item, vertical navigation, typing mode.

So that's a long list of selected items in my rotor. Now I am back on the home screen and Iím on page 6 where I keep Icons, where I save the webpage as an icon on my home screen. I collect them on page 6. So let me go to containers.

Headings, containers,

Remember I moved that to that position. I'm going to swipe down with a single finger.

Dock phone, double tap to open.

And if I swipe up single finger.

Blind Abilities vertical line bridging the gap between the limited expectations and blind abilities, double tap to open.

So those are the two containers on this particular page on the iPhone right now. I have the icons in the mass area there of home screen and the dock. So let me double tap on the blind abilities website.

Safari toggle contact button.

So now that I am on this page the rotor reset to the elements that are in this page to see what it can offer up for the selections that I have selected in the rotary section. So I am going to start turning the rotor and that is with the thumb and index finger as if you're spinning a top, turning a bottle cap with your index finger and thumb.

Characters, words, lines, headings, landmarks, containers.

That's how I liked it. I liked it that it went from characters, words, lines and then I get into my more navigational stuff. Now I'm on containers I am going to swipe down once.

Back (inaudible) button, double tap and hold to open history,

Now I'll swipe up once.

Toggle high contrast button,

Okay so it went from the exact highest to the lowest two containers. So letís see what the other do. I am going to go back; Iím going to spin it the other way the rotor.

Landmarks, 0 landmarks

So there is no landmarks there. I am going to try.

Search site heading level 4 region landmark search website text field, landmark, and Blind Abilities presence visited link, navigation, landmark, you are here home main landmark. Featured post heading level 4 region landmark, categories level 4 region landmark, on iTunes visited link, region landmark, follow heading level 4 region landmark, most recent post heading level 4 region landmark, subscribe to (inaudible) email, level 4 region landmark, landmark not found,

Okay so there were some landmarks and it found them. So I am going to go all the way back up to the top with 4 finger single tap.

Address BlindAblilitities.com, single tap to show controls.

Single swipe to the right.

Reload button, toggle high contrast button,

Okay Now I am going to switch it again.

Headings,

Let's see what heading we have. It says we have 13 letís see what we get.

Blind Abilities level 1 visited link, banner search site, heading level 4 region landmark, AP demo series and adaptive discussion about audio compression by blind Abilities heading level 2, visited link, Blind abilities demo cast Amadeus special demo audio compression by Garth Humphryís level 2 visited link,

So you can see I can go to each post on this. On this website it is set up to have five post per page. So

Amadeus pro-demo series, the inclusion at the bio screen by Cheryl Macintosh, heading level 2 visited link, Blind Abilities presence Robin (inaudible) Overcoming obstacles through Blindness, featured post heading level 4 region landmark,

And then we have a featured post that pops up a random post up to the feature list. So that's a quick way of going to a website from post to post by having it set for headings. Now one more time

Button

So let go to one of the posts,

Button AP demo series adaptive about audio compression by Blind Abilities heading level 2 visited link,

Double tap,

AP demo, reader available toggle high contrast button

Now I'm going to set this up for buttons.

Links, buttons, 13 buttons

I am going to swipe down single finger,

Toggle font size, button, search button, end, search play button, audio player, application, landmark

Okay so I can now double tap single finger.

Play audio player application, landmark

"When we share, what we see through others eyes, we can then begin to bridge the gap between the expectation and the reality of Blind Abilities"

Pause audio player application landmark

Okay, those are some way you can use those. Remember every time you go to a different page a different app, a different anything, anything on the screen the phone actually the software actually looks at the rotor actually looks at it and sees what's possible to be used. It will populate your rotor with those options. It only populates them with the ones you have selected back in the rotor settings in settings. So I hope this helps and until next time. You all have a good day. Bye bye.
