Hashim Desai is 80 years old. He arrived in Preston from India in the 1950s, and still lives in the city today.

His son Mehboob and grandson Mohammed were both born and grew up in Lancashire..

BBC Radio Lancashire brought together three generations of the family - Hashim, Mehboob and Mohammed - to talk about a range of issues relating to race relations - to mark the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the Race Relations Act.

This was recorded by our reporter Rachael Dry.
