Glorious Glosters Infantryman Sam Mercer

Continuing our series with Sam Mercer MBE a member of 'The Glorious Glosters', this is all part of our Korean War series as Forces TV is now showing MAS*H every weeknight at 8pm.

Yesterday Sam told us about the conflict between the Communist North and democratic state of South Korea; The North assisted by China and the Soviet Union, the South by a United Nations Force led by the United States.
For three days, between April 22nd and 25th 1951, 750 men of 1st Bn The Gloucestershire Regiment repulsed successive assaults by a force seven times bigger on Hill 235 now known as Gloucester Hill. An incredible story, which Sam can share on BFBS today.
