They say there’s a novel in everyone. What about you? Whether it’s a John Grisham or an Enid Blyton, there are writing courses available which combine a break in an area of beauty with expert writing tuition.
Moniack Mho has been a Creative Writing Centre since 1993. It is set in the Scottish Highlands, 14 miles from Inverness. Ruth Tauber says they have a set format with two tutors and invited guest readers who are respected authors, recognised for their writing. Recently crime author Christopher Brookmyre accompanied the centre’s crime writing group. Devon-based Way With Words hold writing holidays and workshops in Suffolk, the Lake District and at a villa in North Umbria in Italy. Keri Jones spoke with Stephen Bristow and Kay Dunbar.
