111201 Main Hall, Royal Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh

A long day at the Sheriff Court today, accompanying a wronged friend. She won her case, we celebrated with coffee and cake overlooking the main hall of the Royal Museum. If you know this space, we've just got it back, it's immense, gorgeous. A missed trick of the refurbishment however, it feels largely empty and is also bereft of the much loved fishponds. The sounds are from Tim Stead's Millennium Clock, a dark and amazing piece, once in the main hall but now resplendently relocated in a corridor, perhaps so that corporate entertaining may take place unheeded.
