This is my first AudioBoo (future boos will be shorter!)

Last week the Public Administration Select Committee published its report on the Big Society. This is the first comprehensive enquiry into how the implementation of the Big Society (note - not an enquiry into the Big Society concept). The Committee announced several recommendations for improving the implementation of the Big Society, including a more coherent communication strategy across Whitehall; a Big Society Minister to assist in coordinating a cross-departmental strategy; clear tendering and commissioning guidelines for civil servants and local authorities to assist bringing in more charities and voluntary sector organisations to deliver services, and; clear accountability guidelines for the provision of public services in the Big Society. According to the report, if the Government fails to implement the suggested recommendations the "Big Society project will not succeed”.
