Armchair Tennis is an ongoing community art project produced by the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum’s Learning department for 2017. The project aims to record people’s memories of viewing, or listening to, broadcasting from The Championships.
Sound designer Rick Blything and photographers Heather McDonough and Rod Morris are creating a unique record of Wimbledon broadcasts through portraiture and soundscapes.
Members of the Ethnic Minority Centre and Going for a Song have already shared their stories of when and how they first became aware of broadcasting from The Championships and more memories from different voices will be added as the year goes on.
These memories are your memories, so sit comfortably, put on some headphones and re-live Wimbledon with them.
