Darcy Conroy reads Japanese folktales and ghost stories as interpreted by American journalist and immigrant to Japan, Lafcadio Hearn/Koizumi Yakumo (1850-1904). Hearn’s writings were instrumental in Darcy’s early love of Japan and a critical inspiration for her serial, The War of Wind and Moon. Now in the public domain, Hearn’s works have not been recorded recently, and this is Darcy’s way of keeping his works available for those who prefer or need audio.
