Midlands Air Ambulance provides a life-saving helicopter emergency medical service to the people of the Midlands.
Midlands Air Ambulance has undertaken over 40,000 air ambulance missions since flying its first mission in 1991, making it one of the longest established and busiest air ambulance operators in the UK.
The Charity operates three helicopters serving the communities of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire; with a population in excess of 6 million.
Midlands Air Ambulance receives no Government or National Lottery funding, so relies entirely on the support of local people and businesses. General information The charity needs to raise £6.5 million every year, simply to remain operational. Funds are raised entirely through public generosity.
