The principal of Ashfield Girls' High School Alison Mungavin said: "This was totally unacceptable behaviour and we do not tolerate it. The pupil admitted to it very quickly and was told to apologise. Ashfield Girls' High School is inclusive and we have a wide range of religions and backgrounds at the school. Nothing like this has ever happened before. The pupil in question has been suspended."
