The Red-Eared Slider (Trachemys scripta elegans) is an invasive species of turtle that has wild populations throughout the UK after being released into the wild. Since 2016 it has been illegal to import, breed and sell this species of turtle, which is why today I will instead raise awareness on the issue and explain what to do in the event that you encounter a Red-Eared Slider.
