Finola volunteered in 1970, just as she was finishing school '...a wet-behind-the-ears volunteer in what was called in those days, 'a home for maladjusted boys' down in Dorset, run by Franciscan brothers.'
'We did housework, making beds, things like that. And I think the thing they wanted me for was to try and socialise the boys in female company. A bit of a tough call actually in a not-normal environment. I grew up a bit I can tell you...'
