Do Councils need to consult on council tax benefits all over again?

Today, the Consultation Institute publishes a Briefing Note on Local Council tax benefit support schemes and tackles the dilemma faced by many authorities - as to whether or not to undertake their consultation exercises all over again.

This arises because the Government's Transition Grant is linked to conditions that will induce many Councils to make significant changes to Schemes that were the subject to consultation.
