Cast your mind back, if you can, to the beginning of #Greece's economic crisis. It started with the discovery that the official statistics did not paint an entirely accurate picture. Once the real numbers were crunched, everything began to unravel. Now transfer your gaze to #Argentina, where something rather similar seems to be happening. There's growing protest on the streets, driven in part by an economy that seems to be grinding to a halt, and a left-wing populist President who, her opponents say, has stopped listening. The International Monetary Fund has demanded that the government of President Cristina Kirchner introduce credible measures to correct its economic statistics within the next few weeks - statistics that according to critics are grossly and deliberately misleading.
