"Put disabled children down" Cornwall Councillor resigns

The Cornwall councillor, Collin Brewer, who said that disabled children should be put down because they cost the council too much money has resigned. There were calls for the independent member for Wadebridge East to step down after it became public that a council standards committee ruled that his remark breached the code of conduct. Councillor Brewer made the comment to a member of the Disability Cornwall charity at an event at County Hall in October 2011. Mr Brewer, who resigned late last night, has been speaking exclusively to BBC Radio Cornwall's Michael Taylor.
