The so-called #BRIC nations are meeting this week in #SouthAfrica, with development and finance issues top of the agenda. #Brazil, #Russia, #India and #China are often seen as the new kids on the block in terms of economic might, and despite the common bonds between them they're also extremely competitive. The oldest rivalry amongst them is between India and China, two neighbours who have in the past gone to war. These days they are more interested in fighting each other for new markets - but it's a race which India seems to be losing. After breakneck expansion, its growth figures have dropped, to the degree that there's serious concern among business leaders, and fears over growing social tension.
