Benghazi, Libya - a breakaway province?

The revolution against Colonel #Gaddafi began in the one place which he was said to hate more than any other - #Benghazi, Libya's second city . But Benghazi has failed to establish security in post-revolutionary #Libya. The city has witnessed assassinations, bombings and battles between rival militias, in recent months. The victims have included 31 protesting civilians gunned down by a militia last month. At the same time, there are calls for Libya to become a federation, with Benghazi the capital of an ancient nation, Cyrnaeca.
