For Christian Aid, unequal distribution of power and unfair abuses of power are at the heart of poverty. And the greatest, most pervasive inequality in the world is that between women and men. Communications officer Lilly Peel talks to Christian Aid’s gender champion Nina O’Farrell about why it is so important to put gender equality at the heart of our development work. She also explains Christian Aid’s theological perspective on gender and how we are working with faith leaders in countries such as Brazil, Ethiopia and Nigeria on new readings of the Bible to address gender-based violence and harmful gender norms.
