British company Mclaren has launched a new supercar. The McLaren P1 can accelerate from 0 - 100kph in less than three seconds. 0 - 200kph takes less than 7 seconds. 0 - 300kph takes 17 seconds. The top speed is limited to 352kph. The new McLaren P1 is quicker than McLaren's previous model, the F1.

The McLaren P1 is a hybrid car, combining a 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 engine with an electric motor. The total power output is 903bhp. It is rear-wheel-drive. Pirelli has worked with McLaren to produce a special compound tyre for the P1. The brakes were developed by Akebono and use a new type of carbon ceramic disc. The car weighs about 1,500kg. McLaren has drawn from its Formula 1 racing technology to make this car a true supercar.

Production is limited to 375 models.
