It never really caught the imagination like its 1985 Live Aid predecessor. The Live 8 concerts of 2 July 2005 were timed to coincide with the G8 conference at Gleneagles with a call to “Make Poverty History”. The London concert is now probably best remembered for a revived Pink Floyd, for the first time in over two decades, and Madonna effing and jeffing. The concert lasted over 10 hours.
