Protesting African migrants arrested in Israel

50 African migrants were arrested in Jerusalem as they protested outside the Israeli parliament over a new immigration law yesterday evening. The law allows African migrants to be detained for up to a year without trial. Since it was instated last week, many African migrants have been transferred to an "open prison" near the Egyptian border, which they can leave for short periods during the day but have to report back to in the evening.
On Monday, 150 Sudanese asylum seekers walked out of the Holot open prison and began a two day protest march to Jerusalem. Mousa, an asylum seeker from Darfur, joined them as marched through Tel Aviv.
