If anything in the two and a half thousand secret recordings of calls to Garda stations can lead investigators to the person who colluded with the IRA in the 1989 murders of two Northern Irish policemen, it is a "disgrace" that the Smithwick tribunal was not told about the tapes, this interviewee says. Solicitor John McBurney, who represented the families of Harry Breen and Bob Buchanan, says the Garda bugging scandal has implications beyond the Republic's borders.
