It's Your Right: Eva (9) on Children's Rights

Mar 28, 2014, 04:01 PM

Eva, aged 9, (the one dancing in the picture!) from St Francis of Assisi Primary School, Belmayne, Dublin, shares her opinions on the Rights of the Child, and how important they are for all children alike. Eva thinks the right to equality is not being achieved across the world and really wants action on that - every child has the right to be equal.

Text version of what Eva has to say below

Eva: I’m Eva, I’m 9 years old and I go to St. Francis of Assisi School. I think that they should make a right for children for all the poor. They should make one in like poor countries so like it would all be fair ‘cause there’s one of them in there that was ‘everybody’s equal’ and I think they should make that happen. That’s probably what’s missing ‘cause it’s not all equal in all countries, I think they should change that.

Eva: I don’t really think there’s an important, more important right because everything is very important. Like, for example, water is very important, food is important, respect is important, everything, like, they’re mostly all, like, really, very important.

Eva: I think playing is good for exercise, for a good education and like to have fun, like, you can’t just stay indoors and just do nothing.
