Ensuring the rights of people with disabilities - The Work of Human Rights Watch

Kriti Sharma is Fellow on Disability Rights at the Human Rights Watch main office in New York. She's visiting Oslo and Norad during the 5-9 May 2014 Global Action Week on Education, which focuses on inclusion of children and youth with disabilities. In the interview she speaks about the activities and strategies of the Disability Rights Division. She has done research on violence against women and girls with disabilities in India. The Division engages with a number of civil society, government and international organization partners to promote the rights of persons with disabilities. By interviewing people with disabilities and community members, HRW documents abuse and recommends what actions need to be taken at various levels.

Kriti Sharma holds a master's degree in development studies from Cambridge University. She is from New Delhi, India, and has worked for Human Rights Watch for 2,5 years.
