France's far-right National Front increases support

The countdown is now well under way to the European elections at the end of this week. In #France the far right Front National is still neck and neck in the polls with the UMP, the centre-right party of former President, Nicolas Sarkozy. The far right is hoping to take 20 of the 74 parliamentary seats available in France, repeating the success of the recent 'municipal' elections. In March the party towns 11 of the town halls it contested. An unprecedented result.
