"A very serious humanitarian situation" - that is what the United Nations fears is developing in western #Myanmar, the country also known as #Burma. A large group of displaced Muslims has been left without medical facilities since March, when attacks by Buddhists forced aid agencies to stop providing healthcare. After decades of dictatorship, Myanmar is making steps towards democracy. But, with elections next year, the fractious relationship between the Buddhist majority and the Muslim minority is now seen as the biggest challenge for the reforming government.
