The UK Foreign Office says it won't support future search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean, because this encourage more refugees to make the dangerous journey. So far this year, more than 3,000 migrants have died trying to cross the Mediterranean, that's the highest recorded number, and more than 182,000 migrants have made it to Europe by sea. That's three times the figure for 2013. But aid agencies fear the number who drown will now increase.
