This weekend will see celebrations to mark twenty five years since the #BerlinWall fell - a moment which for many marked the end of the Cold War, and the reunification not just of #Germany, but of #Europe itself. But what's sometimes overlooked was the effect it had on the city of #Berlin. For nearly half a century, Berlin had been effectively an island, a part of western Europe stranded in the middle of the communist east. And that produced its own very special atmosphere, one beloved of spy thriller writers, but one which also attracted people from other parts of Germany who wanted to live somewhere very different from anywhere else. So how has Berlin changed since the Wall fell and its peculiar status disappeared? The World Tonight's Paul Moss has been there this week to try and find out...
