Mobile learning is becoming increasingly popular due to the technologically savvy generation entering our schools. Most of these students have grown up using apps and devices and harnessing this technology is one of the best way to engage these tech savvy learners and allowing students to learn on platforms that they have a great understanding of can simplify their study and review techniques. I believe that mobile learning should be used a supplement to classroom learning, not a substitute. An app cannot replace face to face interaction or guidance and feedback from a teacher, but it can give students an opportunity to practice and solidify concepts outside of class time. Mobile learning should not be centered around having fun on the device, but rather centered around curriculum. If the student has fun in the process of using mobile learning, that is an added bonus, but it should not be the central purpose of using mobile learning. Mobile learning allows flexibility. Chances are, there is an app or program that fits or can be adapted to every student. This means that every student is given the greatest opportunity for success. This should be one of the main purposes for mobile learning, giving children the greatest opportunity possible to succeed by harnessing all of the different way that students learn and process information.
