New Tumbler Ridge mayor sees wind power, Geopark status as future to community

For over a dozen years, Don McPherson has been a city councillour in the northeastern city. Now, he's the new mayor, and he's taking the job at a tricky time, with coal mines shutting down and unemployment on the rise. He told Daybreak's Carolina de Ryk he plans to use new developments in the community to help diversify the economy. "What I want to be known for is making it a town that is diverse and that people can have their jobs here in Tumbler Ridge and call it home."
