So what does it take to win Startup Weekend Aarhus Health?

It's hard to nail down a winning idea, isn't it? What works in one sector and geographical area might not work in another. There are also a lot of unique factors that also contribute to producing a winning idea, too, such as the team that forms around an idea and how they manage working together.

In order to pinpoint some of the factors involved in producing a winning idea, we spoke with one of this year's judges, Anette Nørgaard. Anette shared her thoughts on why the judges choose Healthy Homie as the overall winner for this year's Startup Weekend Aarhus Health.

Anette has worked with small and medium companies through Microsoft BizSpark and DreamSpark since 2010, and she has an extensive background in IT and business development.

"All of this year's finalists nailed a very specific problem," states Anette. "But this specific team solved it in a very simple way. It was very easy to visualize their idea."

"The other exception with the winning team is that they have a very straight business model," Anette continues. "Most of the teams had different elements of a good idea, but, having a straight business model combined with a simple idea made a winning combination in our eyes."

As the overall winner of Startup Weekend Aarhus Health 2015, the Healthy Homie team won a package of support, which includes mentoring and business development, as well as office space for three months in StartupLab in Aarhus.

With a good idea, a straight business model, and a package of support, Anette had one simple piece of advice for the team.

"Now they need to go out and do it," Anette says. "They need to go out and discover who are the target group. What will they pay? How will the platform secure user data? There is a lot of work for them to do now, and they should go into those sorts of details right now."

With only 54 hours during a Startup Weekend to form an idea and assemble a team, Anette admits that taking care of these sorts of details is almost impossible. But it seems that the Healthy Homie team showed the judges that simplicity and a straightforward business model truly are the foundation for the work required once a Startup Weekend ends.

"They now need to make the effort to organize the team," Anette says. "And just use the support they have as the overall winners to go out and do it."

The winners in other categories at the event include Best Pitch, which went to Clean City, a project to help track down clean public toilets in the city. And the Innovation Prize went to the team from Visual Therapy, a project that utilities video and other forms of media to help people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
